Order of Christian Initiation For Adults (OCIA), formerly known as Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
This is a program for individuals interested in becoming Catholic and receiving the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

An Invitation to Adult Catechesis (OCIA)

Adult Catechesis Classes
Classes for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly known as RCIA) is intended for unbaptized adults who wish to become Baptized Catholics, for Christians who have been baptized in another Christian denomination and now wish to become Catholic, and for Catholics who have not received all of their Sacraments.
Class Details
OCIA will meet almost every Monday evening
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Room 1 of Fatima-Gallagher Hall
September 2026 through April 2027

A complete list of dates and topics being discussed will be provided on the start of the first day or sooner.

Sacraments will be received at the Mass of the Easter Vigil, on March 27, 2027.

Please know that Father will need to speak with each of you privately to discuss and assess your particular situation. He can do this at an appointment in the office or after class when classes start.
OCIA
OCIA is intended for unbaptized adults who wish to become baptized Catholics, for Christians who have
been baptized in another Christian denomination and now wish to become Catholic, and for Catholics who were baptized but did not receive any additional Sacraments.
Adult Confirmation Classes
The Adult Confirmation classes are for baptized Catholics who have received First Reconciliation and
First Holy Communion, but never received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Registration
There is no cost to participate. Registration for OCIA should take place before the first class starts. Please download and complete the OCIA registration form, then call the Parish Office to schedule a meeting with Father De Palma. Bring the completed registration, form along with your state certified birth certificate and or other documentation required to your scheduled meeting.
We ask that if you have received any Sacraments that you please bring the Certificates with you when you meet with Father. If you have not received any sacraments, please bring your State Certified Birth Certificate. We can make copies at the office!
Sacraments will be received at the Mass of the Easter Vigil. For more information or to register in the OCIA program, please call the Parish Office at (505) 265-5868 to make an appointment with Father De Palma during office hours Monday-Friday.
