Ash Wednesday falls on March 5th this year. Mass with distribution of Ashes will be at 6:30 AM, 8:15 AM,
and 5:30 PM. There will be a Liturgy of the Word with distribution of Ashes at 12:10 PM. The distribution of ashes will take place after the homily at each Mass. Remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of fast and abstinence for Roman Catholics aged 18-59.
On Friday evenings during Lent (except Good Friday, 04-18-2025) Our Lady of Fatima Parish will be hosting a simple meatless “Soup Supper” consisting of soup, bread & butter and water. A different organization/ministry within the parish will prepare the Soup Supper each week, although anyone is welcome to bring soup and/or bread. The Soup Supper will be followed by the praying of the Stations of the Cross in the church at 6:45 PM. Parishioners are invited to participate in any or all parts of the evening. There is no charge for the supper.
The May Crowning of Mary will take place at a special Our Lady of Fatima School Mass at 8:15 AM on Friday, May 3, 2024. That day has been designated as a “Day of Legacy” for our parish school which will be closing at the end of the current school year. Alumni and former teachers of the school are invited to attend the Mass and participate in the May Crowning of Mary followed by tours of the school and a reception in Fatima-Gallagher Hall until 11:00 AM.
A Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the Holy Name Society, will take place after the 10 AM Mass on Easter Sunday. Children ages 1-5 meet on the West side of the church near the water fountain in the St. Anthony Meditation Garden, and children ages 6-10 meet on the East side of the church at the grotto of Our Lady of Fatima.
All are invited for a Day of Legacy on May 3, beginning with Mass at 8:15 AM that will include the May Crowning of Mary. A reception with refreshments and a slide-show presentation will take place after Mass in Fatima-Gallagher Hall.

Archbishop Wester has decreed that all Catholics in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, who are 14 years and older, are dispensed from the obligation to abstain from eating meat ONLY on Friday, March 17th, 2023 in observance of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. It is not required that anyone make use of this dispensation. Those who do wish to make use of it are encouraged to abstain from meat on some other day as part of their penitential practices.
