The documents of Vatican II emphasize the role of the domestic church, highlighting the belief that
“parents (and grandparents) should, by their word and example, be the first preachers of the faith to their children”. Following this teaching, Our Lady of Fatima parish will be implementing an exciting approach for the catechesis of children from Kindergarten through the 7th grade.
Materials and support for the ongoing catechesis will be provided for parents in our CCD program through texts and monthly formation meetings.
An introduction to Family Based Catechism meeting will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 6:30 PM in Fatima-Gallagher Hall. All parents and students enrolled in the program are required to attend.

Our parish Religious Education Program offers faith formation for children not enrolled in a parochial school which consists of class study and preparation for the reception of the sacraments. It is a moral obligation for Catholic parents to educate their children in the faith. The goal of the parish Religious Education Program is to assist parents in enabling and encouraging students to learn more about and live their faith. In all things, Mass attendance, service to others and love of neighbor is promoted.

Child must have had two years of Religious Education and be in the third grade or higher.
