On October 2nd, two members of Our Lady of Fatima Parish were presented with the Archbishop’s St. Francis of Assisi Award for outstanding service in our parish. Each year, the Pastors of the Archdiocese nominate a person or couple from their parish to receive this award, and this year, I am pleased to announce that I have selected Collin and Jacqueline Martinez for this honor.
Collin and Jacqueline Martinez are long-time parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Albuquerque who have been registered since August 4, 2003, and actively volunteered in a variety of Parish ministries. Collin is a Sacristan at Sunday Mass every week, a Lector, and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He is a member (and past officer) of the Holy Name Society and the Parish Council. Jacqueline has likewise served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and a member (and past officer) of the Women’s Guild. She also does the ordering and stocking of our book kiosk in the church that contains books, pamphlets, and CDs/DVDs that parishioners may purchase. They both participate in prayer groups and adult faith formation groups. The clergy and members of the Parish are very grateful to Collin and Jacqueline for all they have done and continue to do for our Parish community.
